This small town makes up for it's size with it's wealthy citizens, surrounded by drama, lies, and huge competition. The people of Fox Hollow are willing to do anything to get what they want- whether it involves lying, cheating, stealing or not. There are no rules here- you make your own. And that's what you'll have to do, in order to survive the cut-throat competition of Fox Hollow, Virginia.

THE BASICS;
-Opened 11/3/08, brand new.
-Unique, literate RPG involving the equestrian sport of fox hunting.
-Intended for semi-advanced/advanced roleplayers with a word limit for each post.
-Friendly admin, currently looking for two experienced mods.

*NOTE: this game is not told from the animals' point of view- only the humans.

Oh my gosh guess what? I have redone an old meerkat abandoned rpg. It used to be terrible. Juniors only. A few sentences if more than one at all. No activity. Once a month posting. It was sad! Worse-it was mine! I was disgusted at how I let this happen. And the biggest shocker of all, I was just as active and creative as my members. :o I decided to change it all, make it better. I issued a new rule: 50 words a post and no less. Although now I have decided to change it to either 90 or 100. I changed the name. Sunset Equines. Erased the boards and put all new boards and categories in. In short: It's a new site. So come check it out! Oh and we need help. First: I only have one other member right now, my good friend Lexi. Second: I need artists and staff. Third: I need skin makers. So come on by!

Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?

Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:

  • Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd.
  • Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel.
  • Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd.
  • Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.


What's going on... ?

There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?

Humans populated the Earth and Horses were second in line of being the Top of the food chain. All horses were Domestic in those times until the Humans knew it was coming. WWIII had already started and the humans had turned the horses loose. Onto every Island that there was so they were safe. The humans all died out, horses were alone and devastated. They mangaged to travel to other places and repopulate but the blow was hard and half of the species was swiped out. The others had been used for battle and lots had to breed and help the island to make the equines popular, while other animals came to the island they got frightened, fighting and doing everything they shouldn’t.

Equines split in three. Light, Dark and neutral alliances. The Lights took parts of the Land and the Darks did aswell. The neutrals put themselves between the two alliances as they were Half Dark and Light so they couldn’t allow them to fight. It made the Darks angry and attack the Lights, taking over Land which they lost by a king. The king died soon and so the Darks moved out because they said the Land was boring, but soon some travellers stayed here and found it lovely. Soon it was popular and the Equines were thriving the World but this Land was by far the most popular and successful. But now again the Lights and Darks are going to try for Battle. But will they accept this Challenge? What side will the Neutrals go onto? You deicide this fate..

In the long sweet days of birth and beginning, four nations of the horse stood together. Each nation was beloved of an element: each horse had the power of fire, air, earth or water surging through it’s veins. And the nations lived together in the arms of peace, and it was good.

But if all good things lasted, what would our characters do?

Each nation had in their keeping a stone that controlled their elemental magic. The root and heart of everything lay in those rocks. The horses knew if the four stones were brought together, the fusion would birth a magic of unholy strength empowering one nation - and depleting all others.

Over time alliances crumbled. A creeping rot of mistrust grew between the nations. Each day quarrels and skirmishes burst forth. Every unknown horse became an enemy. The nations watched each other with hardening eyes, and kept constant watch over their stones.

And then one day without warning - as suddenly as a heartbeat - the air stone had been broken and it’s nation destroyed. The horses of the air fell as one to the ground, and even as their dying screams spread on the wind the surviving nations tumbled into battle. They knew no horse could break the stone of it’s own element. In their rage, in their shock and their grief, what else mattered but vengeance? And what could protect their own nation, but to find the scattered pieces of the air stone and bring the other stones together with it to create that fabled power with it’s terrifying promise? The nations fought on with no resolution; equal in battle as they once had been equal in peace, each certain that the others had brought about the fate of the air nation.

But as the story continues we find that nation not as dead as it seemed. The very fact that the air stone was in pieces instead of completely destroyed let the air king cling onto life and, sheltered by the queen of the earth, he slowly regained his health. And the tempestuous godlike spirit, the Great Pegasus, had snatched ten air horses from the jaws of death. Now he lets them loose on the world again, spurring them on to take revenge …

The nations tremble on the brink of war more furious and bloody than ever before. The fractured stone has been hidden again. And the only horse knowing the alliance of the one who smashed it is mute …

Okay, this does NOT follow the standard history of the world as we know it for real… this is my own world

The year was 1231 and a Council of creatures was formed; the world was in a constant state of disarray. There were many small groups of ‘creatures’ scattered throughout the world, based solely on their race, and were all doing their best to remain hidden from the humans of the world. The council was made up of ten seats, each seat taken by one member of each face; a vampire, a werewolf, a faerie, an elf and then one of each element. The creatures established this council in order to protect the races from any harm or exploitation.

It was towards the end of the 1300’s that the humans began to grow aware of the creatures and of their council. An Order was created to keep in direct contact with the Council and it created an Accord to keep the entire world at ease. The agreement was that the humans were not to inflict any kind of harm or exploitation against the creatures, who had agreed not to use their abilities/powers to attack the humans for either their amusement or personal gain. This alliance lasted for a long time and the races had slowly begun to re-populate with humans as well as their own kind and other races.

Unfortunately this wouldn’t last forever and the world would then turn into the state that it is today; just less the technological advances that have been made since. Several noblemen took it upon themselves to ask the Council to aid them as mediators during a talk between two neighboring and feuding nations. They agreed, since they did not want bloodshed, and went to where they had been asked to go. Just before they had arrived, they had been joined by a mystery fellow, one unknown to any of the races, warned them of betrayal and was able to offer some proof to his allegations. Upon hearing this, the Council decided to betray the humans before they could be betrayed themselves.

It was the actions made on this night that has led to the bitter feud between the creatures and the humans that will last for centuries to come. Each side claims that they were double crossed by the other, yet neither side has ever tried to find out the truth. The humans have since then begun training what they call Hunters to seek and destroy the creatures so that there can be harmony in their world once again. The creatures and their Council have since gone into hiding once they grew aware of the Hunters and their sadistic methodologies. The creatures were wiped out all across the world and it was soon believed that they had all but been wiped out. Even though it was believed that almost all the creatures were gone, the humans still trained Hunters… you never knew if the numbers could rise again.

And so it is now, seven hundred years later, and the feud is still going strong; now with the races have been repopulated. It is a new age now, with more technological advances and more people in the world; less and less know about the bitter feud that once brought this world to its knees. There is, however, a small band of both creatures and humans that believe that this feud is ridiculous and wish it to end. They have begun digging through the ions of history that has been buried by their own kind to find out exactly what had happened to have caused their harmony to abruptly end.

NOTE: It is possible to be a Hunter and not be against all of the creatures that are on this board. You can be a Hunter of just the werewolves and vampires since they are the more dangerous of the bunch, though elementals can be dangerous if they abuse their powers. Also, you can be a watcher for the hunters, which means that you merely keep tabs on the creatures and never actually engage them in a physical sort of way.

ShellClan is the same as ThunderClan. Which means they are usually bulky, but since they live on the beach they also know how to swim. So don't underestimate them. They can swim just as well as climb and forest hunt.

PebbleClan
PebbleClan is basically RiverClan. They are the best Swimmers of all the clans. They look most like riverclan though. They are also able to swim to islands instead of wadding. Like the other clans. Don't think that that is all they can do. In a battle, in the foam they can drown you.

ReedClan
WindClan of course. They can all swim but they mostly refer their land. They are best at hunting in their reeds. Than in the water... They run fast too. Some cats say, they run so fast that they can walk on water!

DepthClan
This is ShadowClan. Fierce vicious... everything. There is a large part of black clouds that are said to cover their harts too. They are easy to tell apart from Reedclan, Shellclan, and PebbleClan... They are just plain smelly. But no offense!

FoamClan
FoamClan is StarClan. Meaning, all leaders names end in --Foam. They were started after the clans had broke apart... after a battle

Plot:
Four new kits are born in late winter and each one lives. But each one has a unique characteristic. One is blind, one is big like an Ocelot cat only black, one can change their pelt color, and the other can make their claws grow. The loner who gave birth to them died after their 6 weeks with her kits The moved from the loners land going into seperate areas.
The blind kit went to ReedClan. Where she lives underground.
The cat that is bigger like an Ocelot (only black) went to DepthClan. He can outmatch the leader even as an apprentice.
The cat with big claws went to ShellClan. He lives with trees and catches the most prey and lives off of land not sea.
The cat that changes its pelt went to PebbleClan. She can change to what ever color she wants.
Each cat can do some of eachothers powers but weakly. FoamClan lead the there....Why? The earth is moving...

Prophecy:
Each purr,growl, and cry leads to pain.
1 will come to each.
The power they hold will control the fates.
Or sand and water will crumble.
